The Citadel Theatre is a cornerstore of Edmonton’s arts community and occupies a prominent corner of Sir Winston Churchill Square were passersby and patrons can check out the theatre’s large building and exceptional theatrical performances. A new marquee sign was commissioned from Behrends Architectural Signage in the spring of 2015 and the project was completed in the fall. The original design involved consultation with Behrends Group and an architectural signage firm in Edmonton, settling on an aluminum construction that would also allow for images to be displayed according to the arts partnerships the Theatre wants to highlight. The installation of the beautiful sign coincided perfectly with the Citadel’s 50th anniversary of its Box Office opening and it could not have happened without Behrends’ project management and expertise. From onsite management to in-house industrial design, Behrends had their finger on the pulse of the project, orchestrating multiple subtrades to get this exceptional job done correctly and with minimal obstacles.
