The Toronto Rehabilitation Institute is home to one of the most technologically advanced rehabilitation research centers in the world. Behrends was the winner of a tender proposal for the manufacture and install of their donor recognition system, as well as their interior wayfinding system. The design called for a modern, airy look utilizing stainless steel, glass, and vinyl. We addressed all concerns at an early stage, and adjusted the provided design to suite the requested materials (glass, for example, has specific requirements for mounting that are crucial for safety and durability). The hospital was operational at the time of installation, so install took place in the evenings after 6pm, with minimal noise and interruption to the hospital. Every workstation was cleaned of dust before we moved to another room to avoid compromising the hospital environment.
